The Fed joins Twitter
The Fed greeted followers in its first official tweet Wednesday morning.

According to the press release, the Twitter channel will also be used to answer popular questions and link to videos of the Federal Reserve Board.
No word on whether Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, who does not have a personal Twitter account, will use the official account to make a personal connection with followers.
The account has 97 followers so far.
