Loretta Lynch joins Twitter

Attorney General Loretta Lynch has her own Twitter account.

The new attorney general sent out her first tweet Wednesday morning, hours before an investiture ceremony to formally welcome her to the job.

Lynch’s header image is from this year’s National Peace Officers Memorial Service.

Lynch, the first black female attorney general, tweeted she would take her oath of office using a Bible that belonged to abolitionist Frederick Douglass.

President Obama will speak at Lynch’s investiture ceremony Wednesday morning.

{mosads}Lynch has made her mark quickly since becoming the U.S.’ top law enforcement official in early May.

Her department’s sweeping corruption investigation into FIFA, soccer’s international governing body, gained her accolades worldwide.

Lynch has also played a leading role in the Obama administration’s efforts to rebuild ties between law enforcement and communities in the wake of a string of police-related deaths of young black men.
