Republicans welcome ‘March for Life’ participants to DC

{mosads}Last year, about 400,000 people attended the event, and organizers said they expect more this year. This year’s march coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade, the landmark case that affirmed a legal right to have an abortion.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is expected to address the crowd by video. Other speakers include former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). Many other Republicans were mingling with the crowd on the National Mall, and even those who are out of town for a workweek back in their districts were tweeting their support for the cause.

The hundreds of thousands who have come to D.C. today for the @march_for_life are a testament to the importance of protecting the unborn.
