Burgess on climate change markup: ‘Not a well run process’
Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) has many complaints about the Waxman-Markey climate change legislation, not least of which has been this week’s markup of the bill.
Burgess made his dissatisfaction clear Tuesday, tweeting from committee:
We are in the process of “marking-up” the Waxman/Markey climate change bill.
A lot of confusion over the correct way to offer an amendment.
We are being excluded from offering new amenments.
Now we have to wait 2 hour notification requirement.
We are stalled while everyone tries to determine how long their amendments have been at the desk.
Not a well run process.
