Donald Trump touted his “winning” temperament during Monday night’s presidential debate in New York, eliciting audience laughs.

{mosads}When pressed by debate moderator Lester Holt on whether the Republican presidential nominee has better judgment than Democratic nominee Clinton, Trump said, “There’s no question.

“I also have a much better temperament than she has,” he added.

The audience erupted in laughter, but Trump dug in on his statement.

“Let me tell you: She spent hundreds of millions on advertising — ‘Let’s go after [his temperament],’ ” Trump said. “I think my strongest asset, maybe by far, is my temperament. I have a winning temperament. I know how to win.”

When Clinton was asked to respond, she elicited another round of laughs by saying, “Woo! OK.”

She took the opportunity to hit Trump for his “deeply troubling” and “cavalier” attitude on nuclear weapons, pointing to an apparent incident in which Trump said he would blow Iranian sailors out of the water for taunting American sailors.

“That is not good judgment. That is not the right temperament to be commander in chief,” Clinton said. “If a man can be provoked by a tweet, he should not have his fingers anywhere near the nuclear codes.”

“That line’s getting a little bit old, I must say,” Trump responded.

“It’s a good one, though,” Clinton shot back.
