Delta Airlines hired Cauthen Forbes & Williams to lobby on a bill to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration and one that relates to corporate pension programs, Senate lobbying records show. Jeff Forbes, a former Democratic staff director on the Senate Finance Committee, is among the lobbyists working on Delta’s behalf.
• ENERGY. Alliance One is lobbying for Empire District Electric Co. The firm is tracking a number of energy-related bills for the company, which is based in Missouri.
RKB Consulting is lobbying for Hydro Green Energy, which develops renewable-energy projects. The company is looking for federal appropriations, lobbying records show.
• FINANCE. Stone Tower Capital hired Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld to lobby on matters relating to the $700 billion bailout package, known as the Troubled Asset Relief Program.
• MERGERS. Whole Foods Market hired Michael Torrey Associates to do “legislative monitoring and outreach” relating to a proposed rulemaking at the Federal Trade Commission that the company opposes. Torrey is a former Republican staff aide and more recently was a deputy chief of staff to Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns, who recently was elected to the Senate.
• TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Adams & Reese is lobbying for AT&T Services on issues involving the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Department of Homeland Security, Senate lobbying records show.
