Trump to appear on ’60 Minutes’

President Trump will appear on CBS’s “60 Minutes” this Sunday, according to a Thursday night CNN report.

The interview, which was reportedly taped on Thursday at the White House, will be conducted by the show’s longtime correspondent Lesley Stahl.

The program’s camera crews were spotted leaving the White House on Thursday afternoon by Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts.

 

The Hill has reached out to “60 Minutes” for further details, but a spokesperson declined comment. The Hill has also reached out to the White House for comment.

The sit-down marks the first time the president has appeared on the show while in office.

{mosads}Trump, along with then-Vice President-elect Pence, were interviewed by “60 Minutes” shortly after his presidential win at Trump Tower in Manhattan.

The president has been more active on the media front in recent days.

On Wednesday, Trump penned an op-ed in USA Today slamming Democrats on the issue of health care. He also has done three interviews with Fox News in the past week, all by phone.

The president has also held three rallies this week in Iowa, Pennsylvania and Kentucky in an effort to galvanize the GOP base with the midterm elections just 25 days away. He is also scheduled to appear in Ohio on Friday night.
