White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow on Tuesday praised Ivanka Trump, who is facing scrutiny over her use of a private email account while serving in the White House.

“I think the absolute world of Ivanka Trump, who is a brilliant woman and a really important adviser to all of us,” Kudlow told reporters outside the White House on Tuesday. “Period.”

The Washington Post reported Monday that the president’s daughter violated federal records rules by sending emails to government officials on her personal account in 2017.

{monads}On Tuesday, Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee said they were planning on digging into whether Trump’s use of the private account violated federal law.

A Democratic aide told The Hill on Tuesday that the committee is planning “to continue our investigation of the presidential records act and federal records act, and we want to know if Ivanka complied with the law.”

A spokesperson for Trump’s attorney and ethics counsel Abbe Lowell, Peter Mirijanian, said Trump “sometimes used her personal account, almost always for logistics and scheduling concerning her family.”

He added that “no classified information was ever included … and no emails were ever deleted” from her account.

Mirijanian also said that her emails have been forwarded to her official government account in order to comply with the federal records law.
