Ex-AG Lynch joins New York law firm
Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch is joining the law firm Paul Weiss Rifkind Wharton & Garrison.
She will be a litigation partner in the firm’s New York office, The New York Times reported. Her work will include complex lawsuits and defending companies in criminal prosecutions.
{mosads}Former President Obama nominated her in 2014, making her the first black female attorney general.
Before that, she was the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, which includes Brooklyn, Queens Staten Island and Long Island, under the Obama and President Clinton administrations.
She also served on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 2003 to 2005.
She called New York her professional home in an interview with The New York Times.
“I feel like New York has the most diverse and legal environment in the country if not the world,” she said.
