Former Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), who last year stepped down from leading the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), has joined the ranks of former lawmakers at K Street firms.
Dodd has joined Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer as senior counsel, the firm announced on Tuesday evening.
“Senator Dodd is widely respected in the business community and on Capitol Hill for his expertise and ability to work with colleagues from both parties,” Richard Alexander, Arnold & Porter’s chairman, said in a statement.

Dodd, who served five terms in the Senate, will be handling issues across the policy spectrum, the firm said, including health care, financial services, intellectual property and issues facing sovereign countries.
Dodd left the MPAA in September, after serving as its CEO since 2011.
While in Congress, Dodd chaired the Senate Banking Committee and also served on panels dealing with foreign relations, health care and labor.
He helped sweep in the most significant overhaul of the financial sector, authoring the Dodd-Frank financial reform law, and helping to shape the Affordable Care Act.
Dodd also served three terms as a congressman in the House.
“I am delighted to become part of the exceptional team at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer,” Dodd said in a statement on Tuesday.
“I believe that my experience navigating complex governmental, political, and business issues will be of benefit to clients facing challenges in an ever-evolving global economy.”
