The tech lobbying firm Franklin Square Group hired Sarah Beth Jansen away from the Information Technology Council. Before that, she spent seven years on Capitol Hill working as counsel to former Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum has added two members to its board: Jim Umpleby, the CEO of Caterpillar, and Medtronic’s CEO Omar Ishrak. This brings the group’s board to 28 members.

Warner Music Group hired Mark Baker to serve as its vice president of public policy and government affairs; he will work out of the company’s New York headquarters. Baker most recently worked as the director of global trade and regulatory affairs at Diageo.

Terah Lyons has been brought on as the first executive director of the Partnership on Artificial Intelligence, a tech trade group established last year. Lyons previously worked as a policy adviser in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She also co-directed the White House Future of Artificial Intelligence Initiative. Lyons comes to the trade group from the Mozilla Foundation. 

Rep. Randy Weber (R-Texas) hired Bill Christian, who worked most recently as a lobbyist for Citizens Against Government Waste, as his chief of staff, according to congressional tracking website Legistorm. Christian worked in the George W. Bush administration, and has previous Capitol Hill experience.

Dentons is adding Consumer Product Safety Commission Commissioner Joe Mohorovic to its federal regulatory and compliance practice as a principal. He will be based in their Chicago office. Before his government service, he worked at Intertek.

Jane Hughes and Eric Reif are rejoining public affairs firm Bully Pulpit Interactive. Hughes, who most recently served as the digital director for Sen. Maggie Hassan’s (D-N.H.) campaign, has been named director. Reif, who will work as a media director at the firm, comes from the Democratic National Committee, where he served as the grass-roots donor director and the email director.
