Thomas Zutic, a longtime lawyer at DLA Piper, is the new chairman of the firm’s trademark, copyright and media practice in its Washington office. He holds other roles at the firm, including serving as chairman of their Diversity & Inclusion Committee, leading its LGBTQ affinity group and as a member of DLA Piper’s North American Pro Bono Committee.
McGuireWoods is bringing back Paul Reagan, who served most recently as the top aide to former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D). He rejoins the firm on April 2 and will serve as senior vice president and director of federal government relations. He’ll be working closely with Frank Donatelli, who runs the firm’s lobbying shop, and with McGuireWoods Consulting CEO Jim Hodges to work in its multistate practice. He worked at the firm briefly in 2013, between chief of staff stints with former Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va.) and then McAuliffe. However, he first worked at McGuireWoods in 2005 after serving as the communications director for then-Virginia Gov. Mark Warner (D).
{mosads}K Street firm Monument Policy Group had some comings and goings: Bryan Alphin has joined the firm as a legislative manager. Prior to that, he served as a public affairs liaison and legislative assistant on the House Judiciary Committee. And Connor Stubbs, a former director of government relations at Monument, has gone to the office of Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.), according to congressional tracking website Legistorm.
Chris Mitchell has become the vice president of global government relations for IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries, an industry group, and will be based in its Washington office. He comes from lobby shop Prime Policy Group.
The Business Roundtable has snapped up Shane McDonald as a senior communications adviser. He previously worked as a speechwriter for the House Ways and Means Committee and as a communications aide to Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-Texas).
