BIODIESEL. Capitol Counsel has signed on to work with two new clients, Delek US Holdings Inc. and Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc., according to lobbying disclosures. At the firm, former Rep. Charles Boustany Jr. (R-La.) and former House Ways and Means Committee chief tax counsel David Olander will be working for Delek US Holdings on issues related to the extension of the biodiesel tax credit. Delek US is a Tennessee company that works on downstream energy, petroleum refining, logistics, biofuels and retailing. Vertex Pharmaceuticals hired Capitol Counsel to monitor and advocate on matters related to the pharmaceutical industry.  Ann Jablon, former chief of staff to Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.), will work on the account.

MEDICARE. MolecularMD, an Oregon-based health-care diagnostics company, recently hired McDermott+Consulting to work on Medicare payments for clinical diagnostic laboratory services, according to disclosures. Rachel Stauffer, former health policy director for Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) will work on the account.

{mosads}ENERGY. Ensida Energy Corp., a Florida-based alternative fuel vehicle developer, recently hired renewable energy lobbying firm Liebman & Associates to work on clean and sustainable energy technology research, development and demonstration, according to disclosures. Murray Liebman, the firm’s founder, will work on the account.

WATER. Kadesh & Associates has signed on to work with the Irvine Ranch Water District in California, according to disclosures. The firm will focus on water and wastewater infrastructure and funding the Title XVI federal water storage program, which provides funds for water-reuse projects in Western states. Mark Kadesh and Christian Kierig, former aides to California Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D), will work on the account, along with Dave Ramey, a former aide to California Rep. Ken Calvert (R).
