• HEALTH CARE. Generic pharmaceutical manufacturer Apotex Corp. signed Florida-based firm Government Counsel to work on issues related to patient access to more affordable generic medicines. H.W. Menn III, former chief of staff to ex-Sen. Bob. Graham (D-Fla.), will work on the account.

Another generic pharmaceutical manufacturer, Lupin Pharmaceuticals, also signed Government Counsel to work on electronic drug labeling, the drug takeback program and U.S. Patent Trademark Office review procedures.

{mosads}Government Counsel will also lobby for the Healthcare Distribution Alliance, which is a national trade association comprised of primary health care distributors, on issues relating to affordable pharmaceutical pricing.

Additionally, the firm will lobby for Prime Therapeutics, which works on pharmacy benefit management, issues relating to pharmaceutical value-based contracting and rebate transparency. 

Menn will also work on those accounts.

•EDUCATION. EverFi Inc., an education software development company, signed BluePoint DC to work on issues related to financial education and opioid abuse prevention education. The firm’s president, Michele Lieber, who previously worked at Ally
Financial, will work on the account.

{mosads}•TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Cable telecommunications provider Charter Communications signed Baton Rouge-based consulting firm Bold Strategies to work on telecommunications issues. Kyle Ruckert, former chief of staff to ex-Sen. David Vitter
(R-La.), will work on the account.

•WATER. California’s Mission Springs Water District signed Carpi & Clay to work on Army Corps of Engineers funding. Laura Morgan-Kessler, a former aide to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), and Ken Carpi, former legislative director to ex-Sen. Pete Wilson (R-Calif.), will work on the account.
