• Doug Schwartz, former partner at CGCN Group, is launching his own lobbying shop, HillNorth LLC. He was at CGCN for five years and before that was chief of staff to the Senate Republican Conference under then-Chairman John Thune (R-S.D.).
{mosads}• The communications firm Adfero added Cassie Boehm, former manager of advocacy communications at the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America, as a media strategist. Also, Maggie Allard, former account director at Subject Matter, is an account supervisor and Amber Hord, former deputy regional director to Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), is an account executive.
• Anjelica Dortch was named a technology policy executive at IBM. She previously was senior technology adviser at the Office of Management and Budget for more than two years and before that was a deputy director at the Energy Department.
• Anthony Bedell joined the law firm Becker as a senior corporate and government relations director in its federal lobbying practice. He most recently was the deputy assistant secretary for congressional affairs at the Department of Transportation.
• Bill Ghent is now on the government relations team at Subject Matter. He previously was a principal at Lugar Hellmann Group, which was co-founded by David Lugar, the son of ex-Sen. Richard Lugar (R-Ind.). Before that, he was chief of staff to Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), rising to the post in 2014 after more than a decade with the senator.
