Lauryl Jackson is vice president in the federal relations department of the American Council of Life Insurers. She previously was director of federal government affairs at Johnson & Johnson, and before that she led congressional outreach for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America. She was also a health policy adviser to Rep. Bobby Rush (D-Ill.).

 

The Open Society Foundations named Micaela Fernandez Allen director of U.S. advocacy in the D.C. office of Open Society-U.S., effective Feb. 18. She was most recently director of global public policy at Walmart. Under President Obama, she was special assistant to the president in the Office of Legislative Affairs. She was also previously an adviser to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

 

LKQ Corporation hired Tyler Threadgill as vice president of federal government affairs. Threadgill most recently was chief of staff to Rep. David Kustoff (R-Tenn.) and previously was a vice president at lobbying firm Mercury LLC. Before that he was deputy chief of staff and communications director for Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (R-Tenn.).

 

Mufaddal Ezzy was named the first director of public affairs for self-driving technology company Aurora. He previously worked at Waymo as head of public policy for Western U.S. states and before that was Google’s California manager for public policy and government relations. He was also a senior adviser in the California state Senate for 10 years.

 

Amanda Maddox, previously communications director for former Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), is now a managing director at public affairs firm PLUS Communications. Before working in Isakson’s office, she was communications director for Rep. Austin Scott (R-Ga.) and communications director for former Rep. Jeff Denham (R-Calif.).
