The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced that Dennis Wharton, executive vice president of communications, will retire on July 1 after 24 years with the trade group. Wharton will still be affiliated with the organization in an advisory capacity. The NAB said it will merge its communications and marketing teams into a new public affairs department led by Michelle Lehman, executive vice president of marketing.
Jamieson Greer was named partner at law and lobbying firm King & Spalding LLP. He previously served for three years as chief of staff to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer. Before that, he was of counsel at the law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP and spent nearly four years in the Air Force.
Lobbying firm Federal Street Strategies LLC hired René Muñoz as a strategist. He previously worked as chief of staff to Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-N.M.) for five months and before that was director of government affairs at Univision Communications for a year.
Todd Washam is leaving his post as vice president of public policy and industry relations at the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) to join the Trump administration, where he will be director of House relations in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations. Washam was at the ACCA for more than four years. He previously worked as a senior legislative assistant to Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.).
Zack Roday will be a senior adviser at the lobbying firm GuidePost Strategies and a senior strategist at advertising firm Ascent Media. Roday was most recently director of communications for Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, a post he held for more than a year. Before that, he was communications director for the Republican Attorneys General Association and press secretary for then-Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) political operation known as Team Ryan.
The Independent Community Bankers of America named Joel Williquette senior vice president of operational risk policy. He previously was vice president and chief information officer for Wisconsin-based Capitol Credit Union.
