The U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced two new hires for its congressional team: Shavenor Winters as a manager for the northwest regional office and Laura Manion as a manager for the great lakes regional office. Winters previously was a lobbyist at Innovative Federal Strategies and before that was a legislative aide for Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). Manion previously worked at Villanova University, where she coordinated relationships with government officials, agencies and associations.

Debra Dixon has joined lobbying firm Ferox Strategies as a principal. She was a principal at TwinLogic Strategies for nearly five years and before that was chief of staff at the Department of Education during the Obama administration. She also served as former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.), now the secretary of Health and Human Services, for nine years.

Venn Strategies announced that Grant Couch has joined the firm as vice president in the health group. Couch was previously senior director of federal government relations at the National MS Society, director of government relations at the American Medical Group Association and federal affairs associate at the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Before that, he served as a legislative aide to Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) for more than six years.

Daniel Sepulveda was named vice president for global partnerships and public policy at John Wiley & Sons. He previously was senior vice president for policy and advocacy at MediaMath and before that was deputy assistant secretary of State and U.S. coordinator for international communications and information policy during the Obama administration.

Alston & Bird LLP hired Kristi Boswell as a counsel. She previously was a senior adviser to the Agriculture secretary under former President Trump. Before that, she was director of congressional relations at the American Farm Bureau Federation.
