The McKeon Group hired former Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) as a principal. Fleming served in Congress from 2009 to 2017. He most recently worked in the Trump administration as assistant secretary of Commerce for economic development and assistant to the president for planning and implementation.
Amy Swonger returned to Invariant LLC as a principal after working as director of legislative affairs for former President Trump. She had previously spent more than a year at Invariant and before that was a senior manager at Ernst & Young for nearly eight years. Invariant also hired Logan Hollers, who previously was an environmental policy adviser to Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) for nearly three years.
The International Foodservice Distributors Association named Mala Parker vice president of government relations. Parker previously was deputy administrator at the Federal Highway Administration during the Trump administration. Before that, she was vice president for coalitions at the American Trucking Associations.
Capitol Counsel hired Genny Beltrone to work on the firm’s advocacy team. She previously was commerce and telecommunications adviser to Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and worked in his office for eight years.
The Managed Funds Association hired Ryan Hedgepeth as vice president of government affairs. He previously was deputy executive director for member engagement at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for more than a year. Before that, he was chief of staff to Rep. Brenda Lawrence (D-Mich.) for nearly two years and was director of oversight at the Department of Veterans Affairs and a senior adviser at the Department of Commerce during the Obama administration.
Peter Thomas was elected as managing partner of Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville. He succeeds Jim Jorling, who has served as managing partner for the past five years. Thomas joined the firm in 1991 and has been a principal since 1996, focusing on health care and legislative and government relations practices.
