Former Rep. Wm. Lacy Clay Jr. (D-Mo.) has joined Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP as senior policy adviser. Clay served in Congress from 2001 to 2021. Pillsbury also named Yvette Cravins, Clay’s former chief of staff, as senior counsel. Cravins worked for Clay for nearly seven years and before that was counsel for Democrats on the House Oversight and Reform Committee.

Resolution Public Affairs announced that Elizabeth Stanley, former chief of staff to ex-Rep. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.), joined the firm as a principal. Stanley was Lowey’s chief for 16 years and before that was regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, communications director for Lowey and a special assistant to now-Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.).

Business Roundtable named Javier Gamboa as senior director of government relations. He previously was senior professional staff member for Democrats on the House Select Committee on Climate Crisis and before that was a professional staff member for Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Paul Jackson was named vice president of government relations at the Business Roundtable. He previously was director of the Office of Legislative Affairs and associate media bureau chief at the Federal Communications Commission, where he began working in 2019.

Pioneer Public Affairs launched a political consulting practice, which includes Charles Ellsworth, a former budget staffer for Schumer, and Jake Jackson, a former energy and environment staffer for ex-Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-N.M.).
