Former Federal Communications Commission member Michael O’Rielly joined APCO Worldwide‘s international advisory council. O’Rielly served as an FCC commissioner from 2013 to 2020. Before that, he was a policy adviser to then-Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas).

Amy Travieso Loveng joined the American Petroleum Institute as senior director of federal relations. Travieso Loveng most recently served as chief of staff to Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas).

Uber Technologies Inc. hired Julius West for its in-house lobbying team. West was most recently chief of staff to Rep. Robin Kelly (D-Ill.) and previously advised Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) from 2015 to 2019.

Cory Horton joined Taft Advisors as a vice president. He previously led government affairs for Entergy Corp. Before that he was deputy chief of staff to Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) and a senior professional staffer for Democrats on the House Homeland Security Committee.

Forbes Tate Partners hired Chanse Jones as senior director of public affairs. Jones most recently led strategic communications at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He previously was deputy communications director for Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.).

Jonathan Marcus joined Reed Smith LLP as a partner. He previously worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and before that served as general counsel of the Commodity Future Trading Commission from 2013 to 2017.

McCarthy Advanced Consulting brought on Brian Kerkhoven as an associate. Kerkhoven had been an energy policy adviser for North America’s Building Trades Unions since 2014. Prior to that he was legislative director for Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.).

Denzel McGuire and Rosemary Lahasky launched a new public affairs firm, McGuire Lahasky LLC. McGuire was senior policy adviser to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) from 2010 to 2014 and most recently worked at the Office of Management and Budget during the Trump administration. Lahasky was director of domestic policy at the White House Office of Economic Initiatives under former President Trump.
