Toyota announced a voluntary recall of about 168,000 of its Tundra pickup trucks on Thursday.
The trucks have a faulty fuel tube which could spring a leak if it rubs up against the vehicle’s brake line, the company said. A fuel leak would increase the risk of fire.
The recall impacts 2022 and 2023 models of its Tundra and Tundra Hybrid pickup trucks.
Owners of the vehicles are asked to immediately take their trucks to a dealership to get the parts reinforced with additional protection to prevent fuel leaks, until new parts can be installed later this year.
The company said vehicle owners will be notified fully by October.
