Bill Nelson leads Rick Scott by 2 points in Florida race, two new polls show

Incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (D) leads Gov. Rick Scott (R) by about two points, according to two new polls released Thursday.

A FloridaPolitics.com conducted by StPetePolls showed Nelson with the support of 49.3 percent of likely voters compared to 47.4 percent for Scott.

That lead is just within the margin of error of 2 points, indicating that the race is virtually tied. The poll showed 3.3 percent remain undecided.

{mosads} Nelson holds a 53.3 to 45.1 percent lead among those who have already voted in the midterm election.

StPetePolls carried out the poll and surveyed 2,470 likely voters between Oct. 30 and 31.

Meanwhile, a poll by Trafalgar Group showed Nelson with a 49.4 to 47.2 percent lead over Scott, just outside of the poll’s 1.9 percent margin of error. 3.5 percent of those in this sample remained undecided.

The Trafalgar Group surveyed 2,543 likely voters between Oct. 29 and 30.

These results match the RealClearPolitics aggregate of previous polling, which give Nelson a 2 point lead with less than a week until the election.
