Amid the controversy surrounding Elon Musk hosting an episode of “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) at least one cast member is looking forward to the show.
On “Late Night with Seth Myers” on Monday, cast member Michael Che discussed what he called “an amazing season of guests” and said he’s excited for the Tesla CEO to host, too.
“Yeah, you know, that’s gonna be exciting, too,” Che said. “He’s the richest man in the world, how could you not be excited for that?”

Che also took to social media to poke fun at the New York Post report that stated cast members wouldn’t be forced to participate in the show with Musk, saying, “Does this rule mean I won’t be forced to appear next to Colin [Jost] anymore?! #CancelJost.” That post is no longer available.
Following the announcement that Musk would host alongside musical guest Miley Cyrus, Musk took to Twitter to write, “Let’s find out just how live Saturday Night Live really is,” followed by a purple devil emoji. “SNL” cast member Bowen Yang responded by screenshotting the tweet and sharing it to his Instagram story with the caption, “What … does this even mean” with a sad face emoji.
Fellow “SNL” cast member Aidy Bryant shared a tweet by Bernie Sanders to her Instagram story, in a veiled jab at Musk, which read, “The 50 wealthiest people in America today own more wealth than the bottom half of our people. Let me repeat that, because it is almost too absurd to believe: the 50 wealthiest people in this country own more wealth than some 165 MILLION Americans. That is a moral obscenity.”
Musk is set to host the May 8 show, which will feature musical guest Miley Cyrus.
