Story at a glance
- The Cyberlandr is currently the only camper compatible with the Cybertruck’s unique body and fits entirely in the vehicle’s bed when it’s not in use.
- Features include retractable solar panels, sliding doors, high-speed satellite internet, surround sound audio, and heated floors.
- Since the CyberLandr was unveiled in April, orders have surpassed $100 million in retail value, the company said this week.
A software and artificial intelligence company in Austin has designed a Tesla Cybertruck attachment that transforms the vehicle into a mobile tiny home. It won’t be available before next year, but it’s already made millions.
The $500,000 “CyberLandr,” designed by Stream It, capitalizes on two exploding trends: tricked out camper vans and electric vehicles. The CyberLandr allows owners to “stay off the grid for weeks,” according to its website.
The CyberLandr will be available and ready for delivery as soon as Tesla begins producing and shipping its Cybertruck – the production of which was recently pushed back to 2022.
But that hasn’t stopped interested parties from investing in the CyberLandr, and, since its unveiling in early April, the CyberLandr has already racked up more than $100 million in pre-orders, the company said Wednesday in a press release.

The RV industry “hasn’t innovated in 50 years,” Stream It CEO Lance King told Insider. “They’re not going to get a stroke of genius and create a new RV. And I thought, ‘Who could do it?'”
“The only company I can think of that could do that is my company,” he added. “We’ve got the software developers; we’ve got the AI; and we’re really creative. We wanted it to be a Tesla-like experience even when you were in a RV.”
King first thought of the idea to pivot into the RV business when he pre-ordered a Tesla Cybertruck and realized no existing camper would be compatible with its unique body.
According to King, Stream It’s software is capable of artificial intelligence and yearly updates, much like Tesla vehicles.
“Tesla would never have been able to reinvent the car had they been in the car business,” King said. “Just being in that changes your field of vision. We think it was necessary to not be in the RV industry to create a truly new and unique product.”
The CyberLandr is compact enough to fit in parking garages and drive-thrus, and can be entirely tucked away in the Cybertruck’s bed when it’s not in use, much like a pop-top camper. It also comes outfitted with retractable 500-watt solar panels, which help power the RV, according to its website.
Other features include sliding doors, high-speed satellite internet, surround sound audio, and heated floors throughout. The CyberLandr also has a retractable exterior staircase leading up to the interior’s living room, bedroom, and full bathroom.
A video of the CyberLandr posted to Twitter by the Tesla Silicon Valley Club, a Tesla owner’s club, in July, elicited a single response from Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk: “cool.”
