Russians seeking asylum blocked at US border

Immigrant advocates report that even as the U.S. commits to welcoming people fleeing Ukraine, asylum seekers from Russia, including those who oppose the Putin regime, are now having a harder time getting in.

Entry via Mexico is a common route because, unlike the U.S., Mexico does not require a visa for Russian citizens.
