Wild video shows alligator eating drone and disappearing in white smoke

A viral video shows the moment an alligator snatched a small drone out of the air in the Florida everglades and attempted to devour it. 

The TikTok footage posted earlier this week by the account @devhlanger shows the drone hovering about a foot over the gator’s head before the animal jumps up and captures it in its jaws. 

As the gator starts chomping down on the drone, white smoke is seen billowing out of the animal’s mouth as it chews through the drone’s battery.

“Oh my god, he’s eating it,” a person in the video can be heard saying. 

The video prompted criticism from some who noted it’s illegal to fly drones in Everglades National Park, but the user claimed the incident was filmed outside of the national park. 

“This is outside a national park…this is on a tour…I’m clearly filming the drone x flying the drone…[it was] accidental…direct your anger towards alligator farms,” the user said in a comment

Several users voiced concern over the gator’s health after it ingested the battery.
