COVID-19 cases in Florida surged over the last 14 days as the omicron variant continues to spread throughout the United States.

According to CNN’s U.S. COVID-19 tracker, new coronavirus cases in Florida rose substantially by 849 percent between Dec. 21 and Jan. 3. The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 tracker reports that 65.1 percent of Florida’s population are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
