House leadership to watch Ryan together
When GOP vice-presidential nominee Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WIs.) delivers his speech to a packed crowd on Wednesday night, the House GOP leadership team will be watching their colleague from Wisconsin together.
{mosads}House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) invited Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), GOP Conference Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), Conference Vice Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), GOP leadership Chairman Greg Walden (R-Ore.) and NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (Texas) to sit with him in the convention’s host committee skybox.
Two House GOP hopefuls, Jackie Walorski (Ind.) and Ted Yoho (Fla.), will also join the high-ranking leadership team, according to a Boehner aide.
“This is a big night for Republicans, and a proud night for the House. Congressman Ryan is a leader in the fight to help create jobs and put America on a path to prosperity, and the Speaker is looking forward to joining House leaders in watching Ryan’s speech,” Boehner political spokesman Cory Fritz said in a statement to The Hill.
