Rudy Giuliani clarified on Friday that no current FBI officials tipped him off to new developments in the bureau’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

“It all comes from former FBI agents and it’s all hearsay,” he clarified in an interview with CNN later on Friday.

{mosads}The former New York City mayor said in an interview with “Fox and Friends” Friday morning that he knew about new emails found related to the server by the FBI, before Director Comey notified Congress last week.

“Did I hear about it? You’re darn right I heard about it,” he said when asked about the FBI director’s letter.

After the Fox News interview, the ranking Democrats on the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees sent a letter to the Justice Department, asking the inspector general to investigate possible leaks and citing Giuliani’s remarks.

“I don’t know anything about leaks from the FBI or Justice Department,” Giuliani told CNN. “I haven’t talked to anyone in the FBI or Justice Department.”

Last Friday, Comey sent a vague letter to Congress notifying lawmaker that the bureau was reviewing newly discovered emails related to the server investigation.

Earlier that week, Giuliani said in another “Fox and Friends” interview that the Trump campaign had some “surprises” in planned for how they would campaign in the final days.

Giuliani said on Friday that he was referring to a new ad campaign in the earlier interview.
