Although the Trump Administration has announced that it is now seeking to re-unite families who had illegally crossed the United States-Mexican border, many of them still remain separated.
Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto joined “Rising” correspondent Jamal Simmons to discuss the issue. According to the Nevada Democrat, Kirstjen Nielsen, the head of the Department of Homeland Security has claimed that the parents of still-separated families “gave up their right to be reunited,” a statement that Cortez Masto called “a total lie” based on interviews she had conducted with several of them.
