Conservative activist Charlie Kirk predicted in an interview on Tuesday that voters will see a “tale of two Americas” on Election Day.
“The only prediction I have is disruption,” Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, told Hill.TV’s Alison Spann.
“I think that there will be no national trend. I think it will be hyperlocalized in certain areas where they hate Donald Trump, and I think that there will be certain parts of the country, maybe such as Missouri and Indiana and North Dakota, where people love Donald Trump where you’ll see a complete and total difference, and almost this tale of two Americas,” he continued. “Where that really collides is in states like Florida.”
Kirk’s comments come as voters across the country make their way to the polls on Tuesday.
Republicans are favored to retain control of the Senate, with various Democratic senators on defense in red states won by President Trump in 2016.
However, Democrats have a good chance of winning back the House, needing only 23 seats to gain a majority.
Kirk said that while it’s possible Democrats could win back the lower chamber, he does not believe there will be a blue wave on Tuesday.
“The professional pundits … believe that Democrats will keep the House. That’s obviously possible, but the amount of conviction and certainty they have with other predictions, such as the magnitude and this blue wave, I just don’t see it happening,” Kirk said.
The RealClearPolitics polling average had Democrats leading Republicans by 7.3 points on the generic congressional ballot on Tuesday.
