Ben Shapiro calls for more communities ‘based in faith and rooted in values’

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro called for more communities based in faith and values in an interview that aired Monday on “Rising.”

“Culture remains the key, culture and education,” Shapiro, editor-in-chief of the Daily Wire, told Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton on Friday when asked how he believes U.S. culture can get back in line with Western civilization.

“That means fundamentally taking over not really Hollywood so much as reclaiming the moral high ground with the advent of churches, with the advent of synagogues,” he continued. “We need to go back to communities that are based in faith and rooted in values.”

“We need to go back toward private schooling, homeschooling. We need to move toward local control of public schools so we can re-inculcate principles that matter, instead of having them controlled top-down by secular humanists in the federal government and high up in the state government,” he said.

“This is the only way we’re actually going to be able to achieve this is through re-education of the public and the stuff we used to know instinctively in America but has been forgotten and disdained,” he said.

Shapiro is promoting his new book, “The Right Side of History: How Reason and Moral Purpose Made the West Great,” which calls for more morals and faith in U.S. culture and society.
