Conservative policy director says GOP needs to reexamine relationship with corporate America

Rachel Bovard, senior director of policy at the Conservative Partnership Institute, told Hill.TV that if President Trump loses in November it will be a “rejection of orthodoxies.”

“We’ve allowed these orthodoxies to become entrenched. We now have almost like a theological test for getting into the Republican Party: You have to bend the knee to corporate power… and the American workers should just like it,” Bovard said in an interview this week. “The party cannot survive anymore with that.”

Bovard said many people, particularly younger Americans, are starting to reject the state of U.S. politics.

She said people are beginning to “wake up to the fact that so much of our politics is bought, and they just fundamentally reject the premise.”
