Epstein podcast host says he affiliated with elites from ‘both sides of the aisle’

Investigative reporter Tara Palmeri discussed her new podcast about disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, “Broken: Seeking Justice,” on Hill TV’s “Rising” Wednesday.

Palmeri said that the fact that Epstein’s affiliations “touched both sides of the aisle” made it easier for his associates to derail attention from themselves. Epstein was in the past affiliated with leaders including former President Bill Clinton and President Trump.

“The Republicans were banking on the fact that Democrats weren’t going to ask about Epstein because of their connection with Bill Clinton,” Palmeri said. “And the Democrats would say he has connections with President Trump. It’s on both sides of the aisle and hits all structures of society.”

“…At a certain point I think these people start to think they’re untouchable, and they kind of are.”

Epstein, who took his own life while in custody last year, was accused of sexually abusing underage girls and women for years. Ghislaine Maxwell, a British socialite and associate of Epstein, is facing trial on charges of allegedly facilitating the abuse.

Palmeri said her podcast will focus on those “who are still alive,” such as Epstein’s associates and victims.
