HuffPost’s Daniel Marans discusses fallout from Yang’s comments on Israel

HuffPost’s Democratic politics reporter Daniel Marans joined Hill.TV on Thursday to discuss the New York City mayoral race and a recent comment made by candidate Andrew Yang (D) defending Israel’s actions amid rising violence with the Gaza Strip on Monday.

Marans told “Rising” cohosts Saagar Enjeti and Krystal Ball that such a comment would likely help Yang in the mayoral race, where New York’s sizable Jewish population is a key constituency and where, he argued, supporters of Israel often outnumber voters with a pro-Palestinian point of view.

“At the end of the day, the people for whom this is a do or die issue…often outnumber [pro-Palestinian voters], and they do vote as a bloc,” Marans explained.

“We’ve seen him lock up support from key ultra-Orthodox…and at the end of the day, he’s building a moderate coalition in the city,” he went on.
