Briahna Joy Gray, former national press secretary for Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) 2020 presidential campaign, said that while former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner (D) has not yet made a firm decision on whether to run for the House in 2022, there is “a pretty strong likelihood” that she will.
Turner, who last month lost to Shontel Brown in the Democratic primary race to replace Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge in Congress, recently filed a “statement of candidacy,” but told The Intercept last week that she currently has “all options on the table.”
Gray said in an interview on Hill.TV’s “Rising” Tuesday, “If I were in her shoes, I would be seriously considering it.”
“I was there on election night when she gave her concession speech, and at that moment, she gave some strong indication that she was going to run again, saying that the fight wasn’t over, and the kind of dark money interference that she believes was really the death nail to her campaign wasn’t going to go unanswered,” Gray explained.
“I think there’s a pretty strong likelihood that she’s going to run again,” she added.
