Cleveland radio host Darvio Morrow on Wednesday said White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s statements about violent crime in the U.S. were “absolutely ridiculous.”
On the “Pod Save America” podcast, Psaki jokingly said that coverage of violent crimes in cities like New York City was from an “alternate universe.”
“It’s like, if the American people believe that they’re out of touch with reality and with what everyday people are dealing with” the Biden administration would try to show “that you feel their pain” but “they went to the opposite direction,” Marrow said on Hill.TV’s “Rising.”
“Obviously the crime situation is real. Everyone is dealing with it across the country,” he added. “I don’t know who’s advising her.”
The U.S. has seen crime increase especially in big cities across the nation, with President Biden expected to tout anti-gun violence measures during a trip to New York City on Thursday.
“We know what is going on in our everyday lives. We know what’s going on in our cities and if they decide that this is the track that they want to keep going on then in November they deserve to lose. They deserve to get the brakes beat off of them at the ballot box,” Marrow said.
Psaki later clarified her remarks on the matter saying the administration is tough on crimes and is funding police programs around the nation.
