Dem pollster: This is the ‘Me Too, Women’s March’ election

Democratic pollster Nancy Zdunkewicz said Monday the upcoming 2018 midterms will be the “Me Too” and Women’s March election, marking a new era for women voters.

“This is a whole different election,” Zdunkewicz, who is the managing director at Democracy Corps, told Hill TV’s Joe Concha on “What America’s Thinking.”

“This is the ‘Me Too,’ Women’s March election, and I think you’re really going to see that really power much bigger turnout among women, especially unmarried women, and increasingly college-educated women who are high-turnout voters. They are really not fans of this president,” she continued.

The first Women’s March took place one day after President Trump was sworn in as president, while the “Me Too” movement was launched after numerous women across the country came forward to accuse a slew of powerful men of sexual misconduct.

Trump himself has been the subject of multiple sexual misconduct allegations, all of which he has denied.

“I went and spoke with some of them in focus groups, and they sound like a base group for Democrats. They really dislike him and everything he stands for,” Zdunkewicz said.

Her remarks come as Trump hits the campaign trail for Republican candidates with less than four months to go before Election Day.

Trump faced backlash last week after he joked about the “‘Me Too’ generation” at a campaign rally in Montana while making a note about getting Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) to take a DNA test to verify her claims of Native American ancestry.

“We will take that little kit and say — but we have to do it gently because we’re in the ‘Me Too’ generation so we have to be very gentle,” Trump said. “And we will very gently take that kit and we will slowly toss it hoping it doesn’t hit her and injure her arm even though it only weighs probably 2 ounces.”
