According to a new Hill/Harris-X survey, President Trump’s approval numbers are holding steady during the coronavirus pandemic.
Forty-eight percent of registered voters approve of the job Trump is doing in the April 10-14 poll, while 52 percent disapproved.
The poll also found the president’s approval remained steady on issues including the economy, handling the coronavirus outbreak and administering the government.
Fifty-seven percent of voters approved of Trump’s handling of the economy, 50 percent of voters approve of his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and 48 percent approve of his administering the government.
“Trump continues to receive positive approval for his management of the coronavirus crisis and his general job rating is at a new baseline just shy of 50 percent among voters,” Dritan Nesho, CEO at HarrisX, told The Hill.
“These ratings suggests the current strategy of social distancing, expert-driven management of the crisis, and economic stimulus are working for voters and increases the stakes of Trump’s next move: when to reopen the economy,” he added.
The Hill-HarrisX poll was conducted online among 2,854 registered voters between April 10 and 14. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.8 percentage points.
