President Trump’s job approval reached 48 percent among registered voters in a new Hill-HarrisX poll, up 2 percentage points from a survey conducted earlier this month.
Among likely voters, the new survey found his approval rating at 49 percent.
Fifty-five percent of registered male voters said they approved of Trump’s job as president, compared with just 42 percent of women who said the same, underscoring the president’s struggle to win over female voters.
The poll found stronger support for Trump among younger voters compared to older adults.
Fifty percent of adults under the age of 35 approved of Trump’s job as president, as did 55 percent of voters age 35 to 49. By contrast, 57 percent of 50-64 year olds and 55 percent of those 65 and up disapproved.
Eighty-one percent of Republican voters said the approve of Trump’s job as president, while just 23 percent of Democrats and 46 percent of independents said the same.
The Hill-HarrisX poll was conducted online Oct. 25-28 among 2,824 registered voters and 2,359 likely voters. The surveys have a margin of error of 1.85 percentage points and 2 percentage points, respectively.
