TransCanada Corp. is seeking $15 billion in damages over President Obama’s rejection of its Keystone XL pipeline plan, according to Reuters.
{mosads}The company filed legal papers requesting arbitration on Friday.
Obama rejected the pipeline proposal last November.
Keystone XL would have added to the existing Keystone oil pipe system. It was planned to start in Hardisty, Alberta, in Canada and end in Steele City, Neb., with oil added in Baker, Mont. The plan stirred up controversy, largely over its crossing through the Nebraska Sandhills. Obama rejected the plan in November 2015.
