CBS News has retracted a report that a Bernie Sanders staffer floated using two-sided coins to break ties during Democratic presidential caucuses.
An updated version of the article contains a correction stating the coin anecdote is inaccurate. CBS also retracted reporting that Sanders’s Nevada state director had been fired.
{mosads}“An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the Nevada state director had been fired. The story also included an anecdote about the way ties were decided in the Nevada caucuses which was also incorrect. The story has been updated to reflect those changes,” CBS wrote.
Hillary Clinton ended up beating Sanders by just more than 5 points in Nevada’s Democratic caucuses, taking 52.6 percent to his 47.3 percent.
This story was updated on June 30 to reflect CBS’s correction.
