Contest winner to nominate Clinton at Dem convention

Hillary Clinton’s campaign will hold a contest to pick a supporter who will nominate Clinton for president at the Democratic National Convention.

The contest winner will be flown to Philadelphia and given a chance to speak onstage, according to NBC News.

{mosads}“We want to make the moment when history gets made reflect the path that brought us to this point — by doing something that’s literally never been done before,” Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta says in an email that will be sent to supporters, according to NBC.

“We want a supporter to stand onstage in Philadelphia at the Democratic National Convention, give a speech nominating Hillary on behalf of the Democratic Party.”

Each applicant will submit a video discussing why Clinton’s nomination moves them and why she should win the presidency.

Clinton’s camp will then look for “comfort on camera, charisma” and “a compelling personal narrative” among submissions.

“Tell us your story and why you care about this fight,” Podesta says. “Learn more about the selection process and submit your video for the chance to be part of history.”

Party officials typically introduce presidential nominees at conventions.
