Hillary Clinton leads her Republican presidential rival, Donald Trump, by 9 points in a nationwide Reuters/Ipsos poll released Friday afternoon.
That’s the first time Clinton’s lead over Trump has dipped into single digits in nearly two weeks in the poll. She leads him 9.4 points compared to 11.2 points last week.
{mosads}Clinton is supported by 43.9 percent of likely voters in the latest survey, conducted Monday through Friday, while Trump is supported by 34.5 percent.
More than 1 in 5 voters, 21.7 percent, wouldn’t support either candidate.
Both Trump and Clinton are just weeks away from their respective national party conventions, where they are expected to officially be named the nominees.
Trump has trailed Clinton in a series of polls since late May, when the pair saw comparable support in national surveys.
The survey of 1,080 likely voters was conducted June 27 through July 1 with a credibility interval of 3.5 percentage points.
