Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), a potential vice presidential pick for Donald Trump, is headed to Indiana on Wednesday, a source close to the campaign confirmed to The Hill.
Sessions said he thinks he will meet with Trump, according to CNN, which first reported his travels to the Hoosier State.
{mosads}Trump is thought to be in the final stages of deciding on a vice presidential pick ahead of next week’s GOP convention in Cleveland.
Trump and his adult children huddled with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence earlier Wednesday, and were reportedly meeting with former Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia, too. They met with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Tuesday, according to reports.
Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, met with Pence at his Indianapolis home on Wednesday morning, according to NBC News. Trump joined them shortly afterward.
Sessions, an early endorser of Trump, has served as chairman of the presumptive nominee’s national security advisory committee.
According to The New York Times, Trump stayed in Indiana after his Tuesday night rally because his plane had a mechanical problem that prevented him from returning to New York.
