A super PAC backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in the 2024 presidential race released an advertisement Wednesday hitting former President Trump for being “too weak to debate.”

“We need a nominee with stamina,” said the voiceover of the ad from the Never Back Down super PAC. “A nominee who’s sharp.”

The ad also showed a clip of the former president calling debates “brutal” at a campaign rally.

Trump has not confirmed whether he will attend the first 2024 Republican presidential primary debate next week in Milwaukee. He also has yet to sign the Republican National Committee’s loyalty pledge — a requirement for getting on the debate stage.

On Thursday, Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said she has a “feeling” the former president will sign the party’s pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee, noting that he has signed a similar one before.

“I have a feeling if he wants to be on the debate stage, he’s going to sign that pledge,” McDaniel said on “The Hill” on NewsNation.
