Republican presidential primary candidates Ron DeSantis and Asa Hutchinson will both be interviewed on NewsNation at the 2024 Presidential Forum at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C.
The two interviews, which will be held separately, will be taped on Thursday and air on Friday on “The Hill,” the cable news channel announced Monday. The interviews will be conducted by NewsNation’s chief Washington correspondent Blake Burman.
“Topics will include the presidential campaign trail, the economy, border security, the state of the Republican Party, and the current Israel-Gaza war,” the network said in a press release announcing the forum.
It noted the interview will mark NewsNation’s first interview with DeSantis, Florida’s governor, during the 2024 presidential election cycle.
NewsNation is a cable news channel launched in 2021 by Nexstar Media Group, which owns and operates dozens of local television stations across the country and purchased The Hill in the fall of 2021.
DeSantis and Hutchinson, the former Arkansas governor, both currently trail far behind former President Trump, who holds a double-digit lead in most national primary polls. DeSantis is battling for second place with former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, while Hutchinson continues to poll in the low single digits.
