Border Patrol agent arrested, charged with multiple counts of sexual assault

A Border Patrol agent was arrested and charged this week with three counts of sexual assault and three counts of aggravated assault, ABC News reported.

A woman told police in Tucson, Ariz., that Steven Charles Holmes sexually assaulted her after the two met through a dating app, according to the network.

{mosads}Holmes reportedly identified himself as a Border Patrol agent for Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

After looking into Holmes’s past, “the investigation uncovered multiple victims with similar reports occurring from January 2012 to January 2019,” police said.

Holmes has been placed on administrative duties pending the results of his case, a spokesperson for CBP said in a statement.

“We do not tolerate misconduct on, or off duty, and will fully cooperate with all investigations of alleged misconduct by our personnel,” CBP added in the statement.

CBP declined to provide additional information about Holmes’s case.
