Don Jr. calls US ‘third-world s‑‑‑hole’ after Trump’s guilty verdict

Donald Trump Jr., the eldest child of former President Trump, borrowed a phrase from his dad after the former president was found guilty of 34 felony counts in a Manhattan courtroom Thursday, slamming Democrats for trying to turn the country into a “s‑‑‑hole.”

“The Democrats have succeeded in their years long attempt to turn America into a third-world s‑‑‑hole,” he posted on the social platform X. “November 5 is our last chance to save it.”

The former president infamously faced backlash in 2018 for deriding Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “s‑‑‑hole countries” during a heated moment in bipartisan negotiations at the White House on immigration policies.

A jury convicted the elder Trump, 77, on charges related to falsified business documents while he was running for president in 2016 to cover up an alleged sexual encounter with a porn actor a decade earlier.

Trump, the first former president to be convicted of a felony, has denied any wrongdoing, and his legal team has vowed to appeal the conviction. He gave a 33-minute, off-the-cuff speech in New York on Friday, again using bombastic language to call the trial a “scam.”

“We’re living in a fascist state,” he said.

The elder Trump also took aim at President Biden, who he called “the worst president in the history of our country.”

Trump refused to acknowledge Biden’s 2020 win, and his supporters ultimately stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, to try to stop the certification of the results.

Even before they became embroiled in a blistering campaign battle in 2020, Biden chided Trump for his “s‑‑‑hole countries” remarks.

“It’s not how a president should speak. It’s not how a president should behave. Most of all, it’s not what a president should believe,” Biden, who would go on to launch his presidential campaign a year later, wrote on social media at the time. “We’re better than this.”

The elder Trump’s allies chalked up the uncouth comments about foreign countries to his “normal person” talk versus that of a polished politician.
